Light effects like decoration
The spacious apartment in Prague’s Zizkov is designed into a pleasant combination of white colour, wood and stone. Genuine travertine, together with interesting light effects, is the main decorative element. The challenge was that no wall in the flat was straight. It meant several complications, especially for the custom-made furniture. But we managed!
KITCHEN
Custom-made white-lacquered, high-gloss furniture stands out thanks to its clean lines. There is a box of herbs recessed right into the worktop from Corian stone under the window. The window between the worktop and the top cabinets provides plenty of light for the workspace.

AND
LIVING
ROOM
The playful colours of a multi-part modular sofa add to the combination of white and wood here. The space is lightened by a cantilever dining table. The main decorations are the wall lamps that create an original light element.
LIVING
ROOM
A generous living space is dominated by a sofa with a chaise made of modules in an optimistic colour combination. The built-in as well as the standing furniture has been custom-made for the room. The pleasant colour design is complemented by a wooden floor and a stone facing from genuine travertine. The light effects of the wall lights turned out to be pleasantly unexpected decorations.
CHILDREN'S
ROOM
A cheerful paint and a carpet brought playfulness into the creative space for children’s games and relaxation. The simple shelves create the illusion of a tree and correspond to the animal stickers on the wall. An action element is here a hanging swing bag that invites not only to the movement but also to the relaxation.
STUDY
The neutral colours create a quiet environment for work. A simple yet unique library from wooden veneer provided dynamics to the room. If necessary, the room can become temporarily a guest room.
KITCHEN
DETAILS
The details in the kitchen are thought out thoroughly. An apparent disadvantage of sloping walls has become an advantage. The high kitchen cabinets are not in one line, they protrude. This creates an interesting effect similar to LED-backlit cabinets. The tilers performed filigree work represented by a stone mosaic of varying heights. The individual elements in the corners were cut out by hand and assembled piece after piece. A glass plate prevents the stone facing behind the stove from staining, protecting the stone facing, but not hiding it.
