APARTMENT STOUPAJÍCÍ

Provence zest
in a block of flats

Modern Provence in a block of flats? Why not. Several construction interventions were enough to turn the dark apartment into a bright space where traveled owners will love to spend their well-earned retirement. The turquoise colour that goes through the entire apartment adds authentic zest to the space. Together with the shades of bleached wood on the floor, it creates a pleasant seaside atmosphere. The unconventional turquoise suits the kitchen too.

ENTRANCE HALL,
KITCHEN
AND CLOAKROOM

For purely practical reasons, the patchwork floor replaced wood in the entrance hall. A built-in library, with the owner’s reader’s collection, is at the end of the corridor. The open view from one side to the kitchen and from the other into the cloakroom ensures enough light for the whole apartment. A separate wardrobe itself is an open space. The closed cabinets have unique leather handles.

KITCHEN

The combination of the white, dark turquoise and brown colour is rather distinctive but pleasantly calming. The vertical knurling on the kitchen cabinets and a profiled facing behind the kitchen cabinets create the desired “Provence effect”. The unique lamps made of Czech glass are dimmable. A massive wooden dining table can therefore be illuminated with varying intensity.

LIVING
ROOM

Owners wished to preserve the original furniture and combine it with new features. The first-republic chairs have been given a new upholstery and now complement the space fantastically. The gradient painting is original too. Together with the bright floor, it creates the impression of summer vacations even in the winter.

BEDROOM

The turquoise gradient painting can be found also in the bedroom. The console tables are in the same shade preventing the interference. The drawer is almost invisible because of this. The copper complements underscore the style and atmosphere. The frame around the switches is nice and practical since it prevents possible staining of the wall.

WORK
AND
CHILD ROOM

The pleasant shades of light gray and pink are complemented by the black-and-white photos from the owners’ trips. The sofa-bed meets the requirement for occasional overnight stays of guests and grandchildren. The room serves primarily as a study and a relaxation room.

BATHROOM

The bright tiling enlarges the room optically. The patchwork floor and the wooden décor bring the feeling of coziness. A stand-alone sink with a hanging circular mirror is the centerpiece of the space. The barrier-free shower proves that  shower can be aligned with the floor even in a block of flats. The owner was really happy about it :-).
